Services
and Responsibilities
Nobles County Family Services Agency (NCFSA)
is the County’s public welfare and local social service agency. The Department
currently has 41 employees. The Department has three main components: child
support services, financial services and social services.
Child Support Unit
Provides services to non-public assistance as
well as public assistance recipients:

There is a staff of 3 child support officers,
one support enforcement aide and a supervisor.
The majority of funding for these services comes from federal sources.
Financial Services Unit
Provides services that are those most often
associated with “public welfare”:

assistance
·
Child Care
There is a staff of 11 financial workers and
one financial assistance supervisor.
The majority of funding for these services is received from state and federal
sources.
Social Services Unit
Provides services in six cluster areas:

services

Chemical
dependency
·
Mental health
·
Developmental
disabilities
·
Adult services
The services primarily involve completing
assessments or investigations, developing individual case plans, contracting
for services from an array of services and case management. There is a staff of
16 social workers and 2 social
service supervisors. The funding for these services comes from a
combination of state, federal and county funds.
